This centerpiece is not only beautiful to look at, but also appeals to your sense of smell. Made with fresh greens, cut citrus and orange pomanders, this arrangement smells amazing.

A simple wooden box would be the perfect vessel for this rustic display. Use some florist's foam and picks to secure the greenery and fruit. Leave some fruit whole, cut some in half, and use cloves to make orange pomanders. Sprigs of spruce or pine add another layer to the sweet seasonal aroma. Keep in a cool place until you are ready to display.

So simple, yet so elegant. Use one large vase or bowl–or a collection of smaller ones–and some inexpensive beads and ornaments, and you can pull together something beautiful for your table.

Depending on whether you like a colorful display or a more understated one, choose your embellishments and throw them in a glass. It doesn't have to be a fancy arrangement, and you don't have to fill the vessel to the top. If using several smaller receptacles, vary the sizes and shapes to create more interest. Fill them all at different levels to allow the eye to move across the display and take it all in. As you entertain this holiday season, stagger some pieces around your holiday buffet table to dress it up a bit.

If you decide to use a large vase or bowl (a trifle bowl would work well), think about adding some LED string lights inside the bowl to give it some extra sparkle. Sprinkle a few extra beads or ornaments, or use some twigs or sprigs of pine around the arrangement to add yet another seasonal touch.

What a beautiful centerpiece, and so simple to do! Wreaths are not just for hanging on walls and doors. A decorated wreath used as a centerpiece adds some simple seasonal elegance. Surround it with candles in different sizes and heights, some extra ornaments or even some berries or other fruit to dress it up a bit more.

To make this sparkly silver wreath, spray paint a twig wreath with white or silver paint and sprinkle silver glitter on it while still wet.

This simple and beautiful centerpiece will last all season. With paper roses and white candles, this all-white table decor can be used at any time of the year. Place all on a tray to contain your arrangement or lay flat on a lovely table runner.

There are different variations of paper flowers you can make, and all different color tissue paper you can use if you prefer a more colorful centerpiece. You can even recruit your children to help make the flowers.

If you know me, you know that I love pretty things and love to decorate. But I don't have a lot of time, money or patience to do much crafting any more. If I'm going to create something, I want it quick, inexpensive and simple.

Here is one great example of a beautiful centerpiece that meets all of my needs. With a shallow bowl, some greens and pine cones that you can pull from outside (pine, spruce or holly would all work well) and a small vase of flowers, this gorgeous centerpiece can be pulled together in a matter of minutes!

Do you have a small space that could use a little sprucing up for the holidays? There are ways to add accents to your small space, giving it a holiday feel without looking cluttered or feeling claustrophobic. The corner chair, side table or even window sill can easily be transformed into a mini holiday scene. With small spaces, less is more, so keep it simple and create a cozy, festive little nook.

I've always loved window seats and now realize how I didn't appreciate the one I had in my childhood bedroom. Thinking back, my built-in window seat would have been a great place to curl up with a good book.

Even if you don't have a built-in window seat, you can easily create one. In some cases, you may want a built-in solution and can have one constructed. You can also incorporate a storage solution as well, which is a bonus. In other cases, you can create a portable seat using a trunk or storage box. It can double as a table as well. In a small room, you can add some seating along a window wall, which will act as a sofa does without eating up valuable floor space.

Get creative. There are lots of options when looking for an already-constructed piece to fill your needs. An unused piece of furniture can find new life as a window seat. Yard sales, antique and consignments shops offer a large variety of items that may be the perfect solution. You may even find a solution in your own attic or basement!

Beautiful centerpieces and tablescapes can be so simple to make! Using candles and flowers are always popular ways to dress up a table, but let's add some flair. For a more festive look, use seasonal or unexpected items as fillers inside your vase. Acorns, dried beans, nuts and even holiday candy make great fillers that give your table not only an interesting conversation piece, but adds color, texture and warmth.

I sometimes walk into others' homes and think that, although beautifully decorated with expensive draperies, artifacts and lamps, I wouldn't want to live there. Why? Because I wouldn't feel comfortable. I'd worry too much about breaking or spilling something. Don't get me wrong, I want my house to look beautiful, but I'm not willing to pay lots of money for furniture or accessories that I would stress over getting broken or dirty.

Especially with young children, a home needs to be able to be lived in. Children shouldn't feel anxiety if they go into the "formal" room with a cookie and drop a few crumbs. It has to be child-proof, comfortable and liveable. But there's no reason it can't still be beautiful. So that's where my FAB ideas come in.

Functional, Affordable and Beautiful are the three things I look for when shopping for my home (and a client's home). I am unwilling to spend lots of money on designer pieces when I know full well that someone is going to leave a juice box leaking on it, or throw a ball around in my family room (even after being scolded a dozen times). You can still have a designer look (if that's the look you want) without paying designer prices. There are lots of off-price stores and outlets–not to mention antique shops, yard sales and auctions–where you can find some gorgeous pieces for a fraction of the retail, and sometimes even wholesale, cost.

Below are photos of items I've recently found in discount shops. I have seen lovely vases and decanters much like the items in the photo on the left, in high-end specialty shops for hundreds of dollars. I refuse to pay that kind of money. Pottery Barn-style items, like those in the photo on the right, are very popular right now. I love the shabby chic old-world style of many of their pieces, but unless they have a major clearance sale, I'm probably not going to buy much–even with my trade discount. These look-alike items were also found at deeply discount prices.

Although they are not exact replicas of the original designs, they have the same look and feel as the expensive pieces. I just love to find deals like this! I am tempted to keep these items myself, but will probably end up selling them to a client, use them as raffle items, or hang onto them and use them at a home staging job at some point.

It's so much fun to see a designer room, a vignette, or even a single item and try and match it in my FAB way. The holidays are a great time to do this. Presenting a beautiful table when entertaining for the holidays is something many of us take pride in. Give me a photo and a budget and set me loose! Try it yourself. And you know who you can call if you're having trouble, or just plain don't have the time. ;-)
